WoW: I’m not so smart, as if I needed proof

I only ran one BG last night. Although we were made up of Scouts with a few Grunts, and they were Grunt level and higher, and even though they were all from the same server (a very bad sign), things initially looked hopeful.

It was suggested we stay together and we marched down field as a group, captured the flag and started home. For some reason the flag carrier led us to the Alliance re-spawn spot. We started fighting there. I didn’t see how that was going to help us win. It feels a little morally wrong to me as well. Re-spawn spot is the place where you take a virtual smoke, hook up with your friends and plan your next move. Turning it into a killing field ain’t right.

I was recently in a BG where we were being completely owned by Alliance. They camped our respawn spot, it was fun actually. Pop, instant fighting. They had one Warrior who would occasionally jump down the hill, hoping to lure his attackers down, then charge back up the hill no one else could climb, very impressive. Still, it ain’t right.

Last night, I was suckered off the Alliance hill. I thought I saw our flag carrier jump down, he didn’t. Eventually I died and that was the last I saw anybody on our team in a group larger than 2.

They, on the other hand, I never saw in a group smaller than 5. It doesn’t matter how good you are, you’ll not survive a group of 5. I wanted to yell, fight me one at a time you punks, but when the rolls are reversed, and I’m in a group taking stragglers, it just feels like they are in the wrong place.

Maybe that’s the secret. Don’t go up against groups you have no chance to survive. Hmm, that’s not always true. Sometimes your job is to delay that group. Ok, here is the beginning of my BG rules.

1) Don’t die - unless there is a tactical reason.

Anyway, we lost terribly. I was Horde high score with 4 kills. That’s pitiful.
