New stuff. Woo Hoo

It’s been a while. I need the space for the second monitor, keyboard, mouse and computer that, hopefully, I’ll be adding tomorrow.</p> <p style="margin-bottom: 0in"> <p style="margin-bottom: 0in">Straight out, I wanted a Mac. I use them at work and love em, but I just spent a very expensive few days in the big city and I didn’t feel I could afford the $1k required, so I went with plan B. I have a 2.4 gig processor and an 80 gig hard drive so I’m building a computer around them.</p> <p style="margin-bottom: 0in"> <p style="margin-bottom: 0in">I purchased one of those mini cases (I’ve wanted one for years), a gig of memory and a DVD Rom all for $300ish. They should have arrived today. Instead, they sit in Seattle, for the fourth day, according to my Federal Express tracking info. But, who’s watching?</p> <p style="margin-bottom: 0in"> <p style="margin-bottom: 0in">I’ve decided to try ubuntu linux after looking at many others. Unknown to me, I was downloading the live CD on the day of the new revision release. I guess I owe the ubuntu community an apology for helping to load their mirror servers. Especially as I’ve decided to install the 6.06 version and not the new 6.10.</p> <p style="margin-bottom: 0in"> <p style="margin-bottom: 0in">Hopefully the hardware will show up tomorrow. I’m excited.
