The search for fun

Posted in on August 4th, 2006

It’s been a slow summer. Mike has been away lately so it’s just Mark and me or, mostly, just me. I’m a great player, but not that fun to hang with. It’s been a bore.

I’ve been playing Ryzom just a little. Turns out I’m 13/20 in fight without knowing anything. I think that means I’m a level 13 fighter with 20 being max. Magic and crafting is 5/20 with harvest being 3/20. They say you can get to level 100 so the 20 limit must be for non-paying players.

I decided to solo with my main auction house mule in WoW, a 24 druid, so transferred my complete business to another alt who was selling just weapons and armor before. Soloing the druid was hampered by the need to return to an auction house everyday. It’s a little tight, bag space wise, using only one mule. Selling only higher priced items should reduce the inventory count though.

Vanguard is going into beta 3 soon. The word on the street hasn’t been that good. If that’s not true and the game is actually fun, they should drop the NDA so we can hear and see the good news. I heard a discussion about the death penalty. It looks to be a range of things from nothing at all, to having to kill the mob that killed you to get your corpse back. Ahh, corpse runs, that sure sounds like fun.
