Ferentus: Something Different
Posted in on November 3rd, 2005I’ve played a couple of hours of a game, in open beta, called Ferentus. I may have signed a non disclosure agreement so I probably shouldn’t say a whole bunch, but… I created an elf person who is a pet class of some kind. Right off, you get a little guy, or maybe it’s a lady, in a bubble that follows you around healing your wounds when you take damage. At level 5 you get an attack dog with 3 tentacles that look like back tails.
The problem with the dumb dog is that he doesn’t attack right away. Sure, you can right click on his attack button after you’ve double, or triple, left clicked on your target to engage your own attack, but that’s a lot of clicking. I switched back to the healing bubble after one level.
Continuing with my not saying much, unlike the current crop of games that have reduced or eliminated down time, Ferentus seems to embrace it. I haven’t decided if sitting speeds up health/mana regen.
